Evan James, President
It seems just like yesterday that I joined James Printing, the family business. In fact, it’s now been well over 30 years. I had to ask myself, how did the time fly by so fast? The answer – I truly enjoy this industry! Where else can you get involved with fun projects, great people, fantastic companies and the opportunity to help people bring their visions to life?
Certainly, during my time with the James Printing, I’ve seen lots of changes in our industry. Does anyone remember the Linotype? There is, however, one thing that remains constant. That is our guiding mission - to bring an exceptional value and an outstanding experience to our customers. Mainly, we’ve accomplished this by having a top-notch team of individuals who understand our customers’ needs. It is truly a team that is dedicated to quality craftsmanship in all phases of the client relationship.
Outside of James Printing, my wife and I have raised two wonderful daughters who are loyal KU Jayhawks. I have been known to play the drums on occasion and I like to ride bikes. Oh, let’s not forget Chiefs football and Jayhawk basketball.

I am the Production Manager and have been at James Printing for six years. I am also a thirty-five year veteran of the printing industry. I am the Prepress Manager at James Printing. My department and I prepare your files for print. Quickly. Like, right now. See? We're done!
I’m a third generation printer who started back in 1988 working with the very first digital prepress equipment available to the printing industry. Since joining James Printing in 1995, the prepress department has grown expeditiously from processing computer disks and outputting film, to an all digital workflow with full automation. In my spare time, I enjoy playing poker and the occasional round of golf. I'm also an avid – albeit rather slow – runner who recently finished my first half-marathon.

I am the Assistant Production Manager here at James Printing. I have been with the company for 12 years now. Everything I know about printing I’ve learned right here. This is where I got my start in the industry. I have learned so much in these 12 years and have so much more to learn. That’s the great thing about printing, it’s always changing!

34 years ago I started my career in the printing industry as a delivery driver for a local printing company. For the next 10 years I ran presses and bindery equipment, then managed a quick print store where I learned the value of customer service. In 1991, I joined James Printing as a sales executive. My goal is to bring unequaled customer service to my clients in all facets of our industry, an industry that continues its constant change and evolution.
I live in Olathe with my lovely wife, Suzanne, her son, two dogs and a cat. I have a stepson currently attending college in Florida and 3 sons from a previous marriage. I enjoy golfing but for the last 8 years, my passion is umpiring baseball. When I hear the call "Hey Blue", I know that I am an important part of the great game of baseball.

I've been with James Printing since 1993, starting out as an Estimator, where I reviewed project specifications and looked for cost saving opportunities for our customers. In this role, my core responsibilities are:

-Personally running proofs to my clients because I enjoy the face-to-face interaction.
-Sharing new ideas, unique printing products (self-mailers, magazines, etc.) with my customers.
-When new products or technology hit the market, I educate clients on potential cost saving opportunities compared to the products they are currently using.
-Preparing proposals. -

I have been with James Printing about 18 years. I started in customer service, and then went in to sales about 15 years ago. I really enjoy helping clients with new projects and creating something that works well for them. I try to utilize what I know to save the client money and make their project as impactful as possible. Being in sales brings new challenges every day, which is why I love it so much.
I am married and have 3 wonderful children. We are very busy with activities and also enjoy camping a boating.

I started my printing career as an estimator and customer service representative for 3 years. In 2000 I became a sales account representative and take pride in the daily challenges of meeting or exceeding the clients’ project needs. Providing solutions to make the printed piece come together and having a customer who is pleased with the end result makes my job enjoyable. Building relationships along the way is an added bonus.
I am married and have 3 children. I play ice hockey in a local competitive league and enjoy riding motorcycles. I graduated from CMSU which is now UCM, with a B.S. degree in Graphic Arts Technology Management. From 2002-2006 I was the President of the Litho Craftsman’s Club in Kansas City.
